Campfires and Marshmallows

When we went on our camp the lovely Innovative Bites sent us some Mega Marshmallows so we could toast them on our campfire.  Who would have known that June in Sheffield was to turn into monsoon season.  Needless to say we didn't get a campfire :(

But a well prepared Beaver Scout never gives up so we prayed for good weather as the last meeting of the term approached..... and we were lucky, it was warm and sunny.

We roped in the help of our Junior Leaders and some parents who taught the children how to build their own campfires in their lodges, which they lit and then toasted their marshmallows over.

Mega Marshmallows are brilliant for campfire cooking, at 5cm high they are truely MEGA!

We found 1 pack had plenty in for a colony of 24 Beavers and adult helpers ........ that was until one of our Junior Leaders knocked a plate of them onto the ground outside... and 2 or 3 beavers left them over the fire a little too long.  Fortunately we had a backup bag.

We've spotted these extra tasty, extra fluffy, extra large, Mega Marshmallows in loads of UK stores so far; Tesco, Sainsbury's, Ocado, Bargain Buys, B&M, Family Bargains, Poundworld & Farm Foods priced at around £3.00 per pack (700g),
